Highlights of Tam Coc - Bich Dong

River Cruise in Tam Coc

A boat trip down the Ngo Dong River is the best way to take in the breathtaking scenery of Tam Coc. Rowed by local villagers, these small boats meander through the lush green paddy fields and limestone caves. The journey through the caves, with their naturally sculpted stalactites and stalagmites, is a surreal experience.

Bich Dong Pagoda

Bich Dong Pagoda, dating back to the 15th century, is a complex of three pagodas set into a limestone mountain. Climbing the steep steps to the top pagoda offers a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. The serene and spiritual atmosphere here is a pleasant contrast to the bustling cities of Vietnam.

Cycling Around the Countryside

Exploring the area on a bicycle is a delightful experience. The scenic routes through the villages and alongside the rice fields offer a glimpse into the rural life of Vietnam. It's an excellent opportunity to see the local farmers at work and to appreciate the natural beauty of the region up close.

Visit Thung Nham Bird Garden

For nature enthusiasts, a visit to Thung Nham Bird Garden is a treat. This ecotourism site is home to thousands of birds and several rare species. The best time for bird watching is in the early morning or late afternoon when the birds return to the garden.

Breath taking scenery!!! 250,000 dong/person at ticket booth, but well worth it.

Beautiful nature
Out of the world experience. Falling in love with Vietnam
Nice bike ride from Tam Coc town centre. Beware of the locals tying to pull you over to park your bike. Like all locations you will have to park. So make your choice. Temple was really good, nice and quiet when we arrived, but bus tour arrived as we were prepping to leave.

Only a couple hours away from Hanoi. A day trip is definitely doable and worth it especially if you take a tour. We stayed over night and did both the Trang An Pagoda boat tour too. This one is much longer and has rice fields on both sides if you come in the spring and summer you can see them. It also felt more commercial.
Much better place to stay than Ninh Binh itself

Gorgeous pagoda and surroundings

Bel giro in barca, ma meglio andare al mattino presto quando ci sono meno persone. In ogni caso, molto bello.
