The pool is great, high tea very lovely and unique
The bathroom of my room had no sealing on the tub resulting in water going everywhere every time I used it. The walls also had damaged that were not repaired correctly (patches of cement over tile), the room smelled like cigarettes slightly, there was no do not disturb sign in my room and the maid came and wouldn’t stop knocking as early as 8 AM on a weekend, other times no cleaning happened until I called and that was at 3pm, the door didn’t close naturally in the room setting off a very annoying alarm to remind you to shut manually shut it- usually in nice hotels the room door are weighted so you don’t need to deal with this.

Unfortunately the 2nd day into our stay we got back to our room and there was a letter stating that because the towels were so soiled we would be charged. I challenged this and was shown ‘photographic evidence’. In no way were these our towels. On investigation it was deemed there had been a mistake and it was another room. However it sort of put a dampener on things. We felt slighted - the Reception staff were very apologetic and they did bring cake to the room and offered a taxi back to the airport but we already had this booked and really the damage was done. They really needed to see the bigger picture.
