Northern Charm Hotel

Location. Nicely located within District 1. Walking distance to shopping malls n eateries. Room is really clean and comfortable. Hotel is strictly a non smoking premise. Smoking corners can be found at cafe and entrance to the hotel. That's the only inconvenience

We were very happy with the location of this quiet, medium size hotel - within easy walking distance from the commercial centre of Ho Chi Minh City, with all the historical attractions of the centre and also the Saigon River front, yet set in a much quieter part of the city with very little traffic noise. We found interesting Vietnamese restaurants close bye and there were also other national cuisines (Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai) readily available. The rooftop pool is quite small but perfectly adequate and there is comfortable seating all around for those who might want to enjoy the rooftop bar and view across the city rather than getting wet! The breakfasts were good with plenty of local and European options (and the ubiquitous omelettes were excellent). In addition to the above complimentary comments we should add that all the staff were superb. The Reception staff were especially helpful with a number of queries and requests for help. On one of the nights we stayed we had the last room along the row which we thought would be particularly quiet but it turned out that our neighbours were noisy into the early hours of the morning. My complaint to the night receptionist led to the noise ceasing, so I assume that my complaint was passed on to the perpetrators. As the occupants of the neighbouring room were going to be staying through the next night we were moved to another room without any fuss.

Excellent property! We had 2 X rooms with connected doors for our family of 4. Wonderful service, great pool, comfortable beds and excellent breakfast. Totally recommend. Breakfast buffet could have been a bit better.

Absolutely stunning stuff service, amazing breakfast and clean pool. Hotel is very comfortable with great service from arrival till the departure. The only thing is blinking light on fire alarm at night which creates a feeling at the disco. The TV remote should be changed as it did not work.

Great location and loved the rooftop restaurant overlooking the city. The room was the smallest in all of the places I visited whilst in Vietnam, typical of a city hotel I guess. However, the bed was very comfortable. Staff were mostly very nice and helpful. Breakfast mediocre, a lot of choice if you like eating dinner for breakfast but was lacking in western options, not helped by the super slow toaster and the fact that fruit bowls and juice dispensers were not readily replenished.

The Northern Charm was exceptional. Great location, friendly staff, and a great view from our room. Our room was also really spacious & the facilities were excellent. The shower also had excellent water pressure. We were located further at away from the elevator so it was nice and quiet. The lack of English speaking staff was surprising, and therefore was hard to communicate a lot of the time. I asked for a cocktail at the pool bar and was told “we don’t do cocktails” despite having a menu full of them. Then 10 minutes later my friend ordered one, and it was not a problem. When I asked where the pool towels were, the same female staff member called reception. I found them on my own some time later. The food took quite a while to come despite only ordering one serving of fries. When I asked where the fries were, the same female staff member thought we were ordering more fries. The same staff member then wrote down the wrong room number and nearly charged a random room for our order, without having us sign for anything. We corrected the mistake with her by repeating the correct room number. On a separate occasion, we ordered a Hawaiian pizza and were given a supreme pizza. Things like this just don’t add up when it’s such a simple task- and had there been sufficient communication, these issues wouldn’t have occurred. The in house dry cleaning was also insanely expensive- especially considering the prices in vietnam. And given there’s no iron provided in the room, you don’t have much choice but to get your clothes pressed (we were there for a wedding and had little time to buy an iron and do it ourselves).

Great location, nice and helpful staff, also quite flexible. Breakfast could last a bit longer, maybe at least until 10:00/10:30. We were jet lagged and couldn’t wake uo fir breakfast (stops at 09:30).

The breakfast was fantastic. Lots of restaurants, cafes and spas nearby. I could have used more space in the room.

Our kids loved the rooftop pool and would have been happy to spend the whole time there! Nothing
